はなみち【花道】

a “flower way”; an elevated walkway running from the stage to the rear of a Kabuki theater through the audience.

●花道から出てくる appear at the end of the hanamichi.

●…をして引退の花道にする do sth to adorn the final days [page] of one's career; pave the way for a happy end to one's career.

●彼女は東京マラソンに優勝して引退の花道を飾った. Winning the Tokyo marathon marked a brilliant close to her career.

仮花道 the temporary hanamichi; a raised walkway running from the back of the theater to the right of the stage.

本花道 the main hanamichi; a raised walkway running from the back of the theater to the left of the stage.
